Farewell… for now.

Dear Friends of Studio Velo,

We’ve been incredibly lucky to build and benefit from an enterprise and a community that has had a wonderful impact on our lives and many of yours. It has truly been our pleasure and privilege. And after 20 great years, we have decided to close Studio Velo as we know it on January 14, 2023.

It’s hard to believe that it has been 20 years since Studio Velo began. The satisfaction and joy we found in building Studio Velo reaches far beyond our four walls and it’s something that would have never been possible without the tremendous support of clients like you. We are incredibly fortunate to have formed the relationships we have with so many clients, our brand partners, and the local cycling community. We’ve ridden nearly every inch of road and trail in Marin with many of you by our sides. We’ve ridden with hundreds of you in the most iconic cycling destinations across the globe. We’ve shared high-fives after grueling days on the bike and raised a glass with others at events, dinner parties and weddings (including our own). We’ve raced bikes with the most hard-core of you, enjoyed spirited and mellow shop rides with most of you, and even employed and helped mentor children belonging to some of you. It’s been beyond rewarding to blaze our own path, redefine what a bike shop can be and feel so much support from this community.

Through these 20 years, we pushed ourselves to build a business with clear purpose and direction. We had our stumbles, learned our lessons and continued to grow. We have been able to employ some wonderful people, mentor some remarkable kids and continuously grow our business through challenging times. Even with the unprecedented challenges of COVID, our talented team navigated with vision and tenacity to yield the two best years in our history. Of course, our success was only possible with the support of our amazing clients, and we are incredibly grateful for all of your support. Again, our deepest gratitude.

We have a clear plan to take care of clients who currently have bikes on order with us and we will work with our brand partners to ensure that delivery of all current bike orders will be completed. Travel reservations are being moved over to our travel partner, RAID Cycling, who will provide a fantastic experience. Further, effective immediately, we are selling all non-special order inventory on hand at wholesale prices to our clients and the general public. Yes, Black Friday is starting early at Studio Velo and will continue through Jan. 14. All discounted sales will be final. No matter what form Studio Velo may take in the future, the current store will be closing on January 14, 2023, so please stop by soon and take advantage of the incredible deals.

We invite you to join us for our last community event, The Turkey Hold ‘Em charity poker ride benefiting the SF - Marin Food Bank and Marin County Bicycle Coalition on November 19, 2022. Please join us and celebrate our remarkable, generous cycling community and our shared bonds of friendship. We are proud of the Studio Velo community and we see no better way to begin our send-off than raising money for the Marin County Bicycle Coalition and SF-Marin Food Bank. Please join us for the day, celebrating in Studio Velo fashion.
