What Our Guest Said About Last Year's Trip

The combination of great people, incredible roads and scenery, and food makes this one of my favorite all-day cycling trips to Europe. The balance of riding and cultural excursions made this as much of a vacation as a riding adventure. Loring S.

Location. 5/5. Great weather and diverse riding. Rides. 5/5. Amazing roads and valleys, with very friendly drivers for Italy! Accommodations. 4/5.  Great boutique hotel with perfect pool and outdoor area. Food. 5/5.  Incredible, local cuisine.  Can't wait to go back and do it again. Felt like we didn't scratch the surface of the riding. Thanks to all.  Charles M.

The Studio Velo team was fantastic. I felt totally taken care of, from morning until night.  From the incredible rider support on the road, full-time SAG driver and private chef at night, this is a rider's dream vacation.  Though I was not the fastest rider, I never felt alone or holding back the group.  Brendan R.

Difficulty Rating: Moderate

We know that many riders worry about being last on the road, riding alone and/or approach a cycling trip feeling unprepared to ‘stay up’ with the group.  Studio Velo strives to ensure that each and every rider on the road has "ride buddies" (if desired) or spends time with one of the two guides throughout the day. We’ve also categorized each trip with a ‘Difficulty Rating’ system, as shown below. The following illustrates the general ride difficulty one can expect.

It’s also important to understand that based on rider/trip subscription, Studio Velo has the ability to cater the riding to the general rider level and expectation.

Ride Difficulty Chart

Levels

Description

Easy

This is what we would describe as beginner riding, covering 20-40 miles per day with less than 2000’ of climbing per    day.  This is not a regular trip for SV:Travel.

Moderate

Most of SV:Travel trips fall into the moderate category, with rides ranging from 25-75 miles per day, with one 25 mile  day on the front end and one 75+ day in the middle. These rides, if in a mountainous region, can accumulate between 2000-6000' per day, with at least one day with nearly 10,000' of climbing. Most rides alternate between shorter and longer days.

Advanced

Few of our trips are for advanced riders only. However, a trip to the Eastern Sierras, due to the enormous amount of climbing, would be considered an advanced ride.  Most of our European trips are not advanced rides, though we are able to cater some trips for some riders to ensure they get their distance and elevations goals.
